We team up with other organisations to create partnerships and projects that provide adventure and opportunities for young people, bring guiding to life in our communities and ensure that our young members’ achievements are recognised in schools.
Girlguiding Scotland gratefully acknowledges the support of the Scottish Government and the funding received through The Children Young People and Families Early Intervention Fund (CYPFEIF). This fund aims to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families. CYPFEIF will provide a contribution toward our infrastructure costs for a three year period beginning April 2016. This will help to maintain and develop Scottish Headquarters support for the 11,500 volunteers who deliver the guiding programme to almost 50,000 girls and young women across all of Scotland’s local authorities.
Scottish grant-making charity The Gannochy Trust has provided generous support to enable Girlguiding Scotland to offer top quality guiding to more girls.
With their support, we have set up a fund to support local guiding groups to recruit and train more leaders, encourage girls to stay in guiding and open new units. We’ve also used the funding to provide skill-sharing events to enhance the quality of guiding opportunities available to girls and young women throughout Scotland.
This includes enabling Girlguiding Ross-shire to prevent units from closing by recruiting new leaders, helping Girlguiding Dundee to grow the number of young leaders – the next generation of unit leaders – and best practice sharing events for guiding groups in Scotland’s cities and the Highlands and Islands.
