The promise

The promise is made in order to show our members will do their best to:

• Get involved with their community and the world around them
• Help others and make a positive difference
• Focus on developing their beliefs, whether they belong to a particular faith or not, or are still exploring this

In Scotland and the rest of the UK the Promise words are:

I promise that I will do my best:
To be true to myself and develop my beliefs,
To serve the King and my community,
To help other people
and
To keep the (Brownie) Guide Law.

Rainbows have a shorter version:

I promise that I will do my best to think about my beliefs and to be kind and helpful.
